s part of its annual year-end formalities, Stowe Holdings announced Jakes van Niekerk, a Senior Field Engineer based in Gauteng, to be the recipient of this year’s reward for an individual employee’s display of the highest standards of work performance, dedication and loyalty, as well as her individual contribution towards her working environment.

Candidates are nominated by their peers and colleagues and this year’s 6 nominations resulted in 3 finalists, which besides Jakes, included Steven Allen (NetPOS Team Leader, Cape Town, RSA) and Cor Etsebeth (Senior Systems Engineer, Field Services, Namibia).

This is the 2nd year that Jakes has received a nomination, and it is indicative of the mark he has left on the company. Joining Stowe three years ago, he has received a promotion each year through the ranks. According to Field Services Director, Maveshan Tandree “he is an enthusiastic staff member that exudes his commitment to Stowe” and his nomination echoes the continued respect and appreciation felt within the division.

Jakes is a dedicated team member who has an aura of loyalty no one within the organisation can doubt, but his value lies in his continued efforts to find innovative ways to implement and simplify maintenance procedures. He takes on projects within the organisation with drive and a determination to up-skill himself as well as those around him. In addition Jakes is striving to improve his own skills through an after hours course in IBS Business Studies.

Jakes is the 21st recipient of this reward and will join the ranks of his predecessors on Stowe’s “Wall of Excellence”, dedicated to formally acknowledge the Company’s employees that proudly stood out amongst their peers.
